Bonucci - Italy v SpainItay defender Leonardo Bonucci, heaped huge praise on young striker Simone Zaza, as the forward scored his first goal for the Azzurri on Tuesday evening in Oslo.

In only his second appearance for La Nazionale, the Sassuolo attacker performed superbly and was unlucky not have hit a hattrick against opponents Norway, in Italy’s first European qualification group match.

Bonucci told Rai Sport, “Zaza? He may be young, but he is mature. He has excellent technique as well as being physically strong.  He has everything to become a great striker.”

On his own performance the Juventus centre back was more than pleased with his contribution.

“I like to take responsibility,” he said.

“The coach asked me to take care of many things in order to keep the team moving and today I managed to get a goal.

“He [Antonio Conte] won’t allow any lapse in concentration from anyone.  We must all help out defensively.”

Conte’s Italy got off to the perfect start, beating the Norwegians away from home with goals from both Zaza and Bonucci.
