Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman has praised his side’s ability after their 4-1 win against Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Rossoblu defeated Walter Mazzarri’s men 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of a hat-trick from Swedish midfielder Albin Ekdal and a goal from Marco Sau.

“Just before the game we were being tipped for relegation,” he told Rai Sport. “However, now the team have showed me what they can do.”

The former Roma coach then went on to discuss the Derby della Lanterna between Genoa and Sampdoria which ended 1-0 in the latter’s favour, as well as praising Giallorossi-owned Samp defender Alessio Romagnoli.

“[Sinisa] Mihajlovic has done really well,” he said. “He took over the reign last season and has continued to play well.

“Romagnoli? He is a great defender and I always saw that he had potential, I have no idea why he was loaned out to Sampdoria.”

The Czech coach then took a swipe at reigning champions Juventus, as well as praising AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“Juventus deny the existence of Calciopoli and doping their players,” he said. “However, their team always remain an example worldwide.

“As for Inzaghi, he has the desire to win, but he is dealing with a mess.

“His players need to mature.”

It is also worth mentioning that Cagliari’s upcoming game will be against Hellas Verona on Saturday.
