Parma star Antonio Cassano has dedicated his brace against Chievo Verona to his ill teammate Jonathan Biabany.
It was recently revealed that the 26-year-old winger’s deadline day transfer to AC Milan had collapsed after medical tests had found an irregular heartbeat.
Parma won 3-2 at Chievo on Sunday afternoon, with the Bari native scoring a brace which he dedicated to his teammate.
“I certainly dedicate the brace to Biabiany, someone I really care about. I hope he can resolve his problems as soon as possible,” Cassano told Sky Sport Italia.
“He is fundamental for us, not just as a player, but as a guy. I understand what he’s going through and I’m close to him.”
“Am I a leader of the team? No, the leaders are [Alessandro] Lucarelli, [Massimo] Gobbi and [Mattia] Cassani, people pulling the cart. I occasionally deviate from the rules, and can not be considered as such.
“National team recall? I think the discussion is closed, it is right that they begin another journey without me and with a great coach. Among other things, with [Antonio] Conte you have to run so much.”
