Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is set to join AC Milan ahead of completing his medical.

Van Ginkel has recently been linked with a move to Milan following speculation of fellow countryman and Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong potential departure to Manchester United.

The young Dutch international will follow his former Chelsea teammate Fernando Torres in leaving Stamford Bridge by completing a loan deal with the Rossoneri, and is already in Milan ahead of a medical on Monday.

Van Ginkel who has been compared to former Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel is expected to join the Rossoneri after just a one year stint with Chelsea where the Dutch youngster spent the majority of his time nursing an injury that kept him out of action for most of the Blues season.
