Udinese defender Danilo says the Zebrette’s all around defensive display was the reason they defeated Napoli 1-0 last Sunday.
The former Palmeiras centre-back played a key role in the win for the Zebrette, which was the club’s second win in the opening three rounds of the season.
“Defensively we were perfect, not just the defenders, but also thanks to the sacrifices of the midfield,” Danilo told Udinese Channel.
“We can play with three or four at the back, it’s up to the coach [Andrea Stramaccioni] to decide that, but it’s the determination of the whole team that is important.
“The coach pushes us everyday in training. I’m one of the most experienced players in the dressing room and I always try to set a good example to the young players here.
“We play Lazio next on Thursday and we hope to put in another good performance.”
