Seemingly out of favour at Serie A side Sampdoria it would appear that Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero could yet exit the club before the close of the transfer window on Monday night with Premier League clubs Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United interested.

The 27-year-old spent last season away from Italy on loan at Monaco and despite making just three Ligue 1 appearances was Argentina’s first-choice goalkeeper as they reached the World Cup final where they lost to Germany.

While Liverpool had been strongly linked with the shot stopper to provide back-up to number one Simon Mignolet, Tuttomercatoweb report that Merseyside rivals Everton and also Manchester United could make a move.

The imposing Romero actually spent time with new United boss Louis van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar where they won the Eredivisie title in 2008/09 and would no doubt welcome the move with Blucerchiati coach Sinisa Mihajlovic obviously not a fan.
