Fininvest S.p.A., which owns 99.9 percent share of AC Milan, has raised the value of the Rossoneri in their financial statements of 31 December 2013.

As per Tuttomercatoweb.com , the club closed the previous year with a consolidated loss of €15.7 million, capital contribution made in January 2013 stood at €356.67 million and Fininvest, the holding company of the Berlusconi family, with a bid to not hurt the investments has increased the value by €3.75 million,

Therefore the price of investment is now increased to € 361.42 million, add to this the debt of €256.32 million, the assessment of the club reaches to €617.74 million, this value, although not exactly what Fininvest aspires, rather establishes a minimum threshold for negotiations. Any assignment to a lower value will cause capital loss to Fininvest and the Berlusconi family.

Silvio Berlsuconi, the former Italian prime minister, bought the football team he supported as a boy, in the year 1986 through his firm Fininvest. AC Milan, one of the most decorated clubs in the history of club football is the eighth most valued club in the world as per Forbes magazine.

Of late there has been much speculation in the media regarding the sale of the football team owing to financial turbulences the club faces.

Today, Milan is looking for investors who want to invest their money. According to website www.beritasatu.com, Fininvest is willing to sell a 30 percent stake in the club which can generate funds amounting to €250 million and Milan plans to allocate a major share of these funds to restructure the San Siro or build a new ground in Milan..
