Fiorentina’s Giuseppe Rossi looks once more set for a prolonged time on the sidelines as his current knee injury will require surgery.

The Italian international missed a large part of last season due to a recurring knee injury, and despite returning in time, missed out on the World Cup due to Cesare Prandelli’s doubts over his match fitness.

It was announced today in an official press release on it.violachannel.tv, that Rossi would undergo surgery this week.

Rossi recently visited London to consult Dr. Andrew Williams.

The surgery will be carried out by Dr. Steven Singleton in Colorado.

It is unknown as of yet how long the Italian will be out of action for this time.
