Roma coach Rudi Garcia is hopeful the Giallorossi will replicate their midweek performance against CSKA Moscow when they play host to Cagliari in Serie A action on Sunday.
The capital club head into Sunday’s encounter with Zdenek Zeman’s side on the back of two win in Serie A and will be looking to maintain their impressive form as they look to capture the Scudetto for the first time in 14 years.
“It will not be an easy game on Sunday and we need to repeat the performance we had on Wednesday,” Garcia told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
“We study the opponent carefully as we always do. Cagliari are strong in attack, but I prefer to concentrate on our own game plan.
“It will be more difficult after playing in midweek but we won’t use this as excuse because if we want to be successful we will have to get used to this situation.”
Garcia was asked about Saturday night’s game at the San Siro between AC Milan and Juventus and the Frenchman was predictably pragmatic in his response.
“Perhaps it’s better for us that it’s a draw, as these two teams I see as direct rivals but I just want to concentrate on our own results.”
