Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini has expressed his delight in drawing with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The Rossoblu held the Viola to 0-0 draw mainly thanks to the man of the match performance of goalkeeper Mattia Perin and Fiorentina’s inability to convert the wealth of chances they created.
“We have earned a valuable draw at Fiorentina surrounded by their large fan base,” the 56 year old told Radio Rai. “I’m satisfied with the performance of my guys who played so bravely.”
“It’s a pity [Mauricio] Pinilla missed his chance, we could have taken the lead. But overall, I am satisfied.”
Gasperini joined Genoa in 2013 for his second spell with the club having spent four years with Rossoblu between 2006 and 2010 before joining Inter for an unsuccessful spell.
