Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez says the Viola have yet to see the best of him as he looks to regain his form after an injury plagued 2013/2014 season.
The German international managed only three goals in nine appearances last season and is now the Tuscan’s main focal point in attack after the recent injury to Giuseppe Rossi, but the Gigliati have failed to register a victory in the Serie A thus far.
“In the two games so far I haven’t scored and I can say the fans have not seen the real Mario yet,” the big striker told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’m used to the pressure, if I don’t score for two or three games everyone starts to talk but I know I need to improve.
“There are periods in a striker’s life where you don’t score and you just have to work hard and hope you get a break, I’m sure that will happen soon.
“I just want the team to do well and make the fans happy again.”
