Inter midfielder turned forward Fredy Guarin is happy with his new positional change ahead of his sides Europa League clash with Dnipro on Thursday evening.

The 28 year old Colombian international will be used further up front this season, almost as a second striker according to boss Walter Mazzarri given the dearth of options the Nerazzurri have in midfield.

“The game against Sassuolo was very important for me and for the team,” Guarin said after the Beneamata’s recent 7-0 victory over the Neroverdi in a match where the Colombian found the back of the net.

“I have started a new story at the club. It affection from the public gave me strong emotions, I was very pleased. But now we are thinking about the game against Dnipro, and giving our best.

“My new role? It gives me many opportunities to assist and to score, I like to stay close to the strikers.”
