Premier League side Hull City have signed Abel Hernandez from Palermo.

The 24-year-old was reportedly keen to leave the Rosanero this transfer window and Hull City coach Steve Bruce had been chasing the Uruguayan since Shane Long moved to Southampton.

On their official Twitter account, Hull City announced that the Uruguayan international has joined the club on an initial three-year deal with an option for a fourth.

The deal is a club record fee and is believed to be worth around €12 million.

Hernandez joined Palermo in 2009 scoring 36 goals in 122 appearances. He was also part of the Uruguayan team that made it to the Round of 16 of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
