An increasingly under pressure Giuseppe Iachini has praised his Palermo players effort despite a 4-0 defeat to Lazio in Serie A.
The Rosanero missed a host of chances and dominated the majority of the game at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Monday.
“The team has left the pitch to applause as fans have recognized the excellent performance,” the 50 year old told Mediaset Premium.
“We came close to scoring on several occasions and we conceded through their first shot on goal.
“In the second half, we had at least three clear chances to equalize but then a great goal from Djordjevic took our legs from under us. It was a psychological blow and ended the contest.
“We need to be more clinical in attack.”
Palermo sit second bottom of the Serie A table having only taken three points from their opening five matches.
