Inter have missed out on the signings of Fabio Borini and Mohamed Salah as both signings were dependant on Fredy Guarin exiting the club.

The sale of the 28 year old Colombia international first to Valencia, then Real Madrid, collapsing, left the Nerazzurri with no option other than to cancel deals for the Liverpool and Chelsea attackers.

Borini has been offered around Europe as Brendan Rodgers deems the former Roma forward surplus to requirements, while 22 year old Egyptian forward Salah will struggle to gain playing time at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.

Coach Walter Mazzarri was hoping to add some fire power to his squad before the summer transfer closes.

Inter started their campaign with a disappointing 0-0 draw at Torino with Mazzarri said to be keen on bolstering his attacking options after a toothless display.
