Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is reportedly on the verge of securing a contract extension with the Biscione and could sign a new deal in the coming weeks.

The Nerazzurri have been impressed by the work of the 39-year-old during the summer transfer window, as he was able to help the San Siro outfit land several strong signings ahead of the 2014-15 campaign including Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United and Gary Medel from Cardiff City, and it seems the club could be ready to keep him on board for quite some time.

According to AlfredoPedulla.com, Inter president Erick Thohir will be holding a meeting with Ausilio at some point before the end of September to discuss a possible contract renewal.

Ausilio, whose current contract with the Nerazzurri is set to expire in June 2015, was promoted from athletic supervisor to sporting director back in February and could earn a new deal that would see him remain with the club until 2017.
