Inter forward Mauro Icardi will miss Sunday’s match against Cagliari after sustaining a bruised muscle to his right thigh.
The Argentine international has been an integral player for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring a hat-trick in his side’s 7-0 demolition of Sassuolo two-weeks-ago.
However, according to reports the injury occurred after a collision with Atalanta’s Yohan Benalouane midweek and has since been assessed and treated by Inter doctors, forcing him to miss their home match.
Inter boss Walter Mazzari will also not risk the 21-year-old for the midweek encounter against Qarabag in the Europa League, with the hope he is fit for next week’s crucial match away to Fiorentina.
