Filippo Inzaghi AC MilanAC Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi conceded that his team must improve after dropping two points against Empoli in a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night. Milan were looking for redemption following their 1-0 home defeat to Juventus but failed to take advantage of second-half dominance and take three points away from the Stadio Carlo Castellani. “We need to improve. We tried to prepare better for this match but if we had performed better in the first 30 minutes we would have taken the three points,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia. Inzaghi pointed to a change of formation for Milan’s improvement in the second-half, claiming that his side played better when he switched to a 4-2-3-1 from a 4-3-3. “When you play with the 4-3-3 is difficult to go to take their defence down,” he explained. “During the game I changed, we got better and went 4-2-3-1. It would have been a spontaneous passage, perhaps it was rushed, but it’s probably a formation to be used in the future.” Regarding Torres’ goal on his first start since joining on-loan from Chelsea in the summer, Inzaghi expressed his delight. “I’m very happy for him, he is a great professional. He showed great professionalism, which unfortunately the injury has slowed. Today he scored a great goal,” Inzaghi said.
