Inter defender Juan Jesus believes that teammate Mateo Kovacic will become one of Europe’s finest players in a few years time.
Kovacic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2013, and was reportedly the subject of interest from Barcelona in the closing days of the transfer window.
Despite the interest Inter have held onto the youngster, and Jesus highlighted his belief in the youngster while speaking to Sky Sport 24.
“Kovacic is one of the best talents, he can do so many things well,” he stated.
“When he’s 25 or 26 he will be one of the strongest midfielders in the history of football. I believe he will have a great career.”
Jesus also spoke about the Nerazzurri’s upcoming match against Sassuolo, as they look to claim their first victory of the season after a 0-0 draw with Torino.
“We started well. With Torino we didn’t do poorly because Torino are a good team and [Giampiero] Ventura is very familiar with Italian football.
“We must play well against Sassuolo, we have to win because the three points are important. We need the fans, their support is always important as every game will be difficult.”
