Juventus defender Marco Motta is to remain in Turin for another season, as a deal with Empoli collapsed.

The fullback is seen as deadwood at the Bianconeri, and the club had spent most of the summer trying to find the player a new club.

According to SportPanorama.it, a proposed move to Empoli has been cancelled by the interested club on the final day of the transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been loaned out three times since his move from Udinese four years ago, and only made two Serie A appearances for Juventus last season.

The player has one cap for Italy, making his debut in 2010.
