Genoa summer signing Maxime Lestienne has thanked his former employers Club Brugge and their fans.

The 22 year-old completed a transfer on the final day of the transfer window amidst interest from AC Milan.

Speaking to Corriere Mercantile as an official Genoa player the Belgian thanked Club Brugge and it’s fans base.

“I will always be grateful to Club Brugge,” Lestienne told the local paper the morning after finalising the loan.

“My first dream was to play in the [Club Brugge] first team, once I achieved that I wanted to play in Serie A.

“I’ll never forget Club Brugge or it’s fans,” the Beglian Under-21 international concluded in his interview.

Lestienne was purchased by Qatari-side Al-Arabi but will spent this season on loan in Northern Italy.
