Former Fiorentina striker and current Manchester City player Stevan Jovetic has hailed Roma for their approach at the Etihad, labelling them a “great” side.
‘JoJo’ featured as a second half substitute, firing two late opportunities off target, and spoke about a club who have undergone immense improvements since the one he often came up against during his own time in the peninsula.
“This is a great Roma side and they played some great football on this occasion,” he told Sky afterwards. “They came here to play football, to try and win the game and I think that they deserved a point.
“We scored early but then I think that we fell asleep. We played better in the second half we did play better but it was not enough for the win.”
The Montenegrin added: “We both played this game at 100%, only this time Roma did better and unfortunately we just could not find that winner.”
