Premier League side Manchester United have identified Juventus’s Angelo Ogbonna as a potential solution to their defensive problems.
The Old Trafford club spent over €70 million on defensive-minded players in the summer transfer window but have seen no improvement, and coach Louis van Gaal is ready to spend even more to find a solution.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus would be reluctant to let the Italian leave the club, but much could depend on how much game-time he gets under Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri.
It is thought a fee of around €15m would be required to tempt Juventus into selling.
Arsenal had also expressed an interest in the 26-year-old, but it has been reported that the Gunners will move for United’s Chris Smalling instead.
Ogbonna moved to Juventus from Torino in a €13m move in 2013.
