Marek Hamsik NapoliNapoli captain Marek Hamsik has attracted the interest of English giants Manchester United for next year’s summer transfer window.

The Slovakian midfielder is part of a long list of transfer targets in the Red Devils’ attempt to rebuild the squad after the disappointment of the David Moyes era.

According to the Daily Express, Manchester United will try to acquire Hamsik from Napoli once Rafa Benitez has left the Partenopei’s bench.

It was also reported that Napoli will try to offload Hamsik and star striker Gonzalo Higuain for a combined total of around €83.1 million to increase funds.

Hamsik joined Napoli from Serie B club back in 2007 and he has scored 68 Serie A goals in 249 matches for the Partenopei.

During his time with Napoli he has played in two Coppa Italia triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

He also played a part in the Partenopei’s 2011-12 Champions League campaign in which they were knocked out by eventual winners Chelsea in the second round.
