Hellas Verona boss Andrea Mandorlini has praised his team after their victory over Torino on Sunday and was happy to see their determination last throughout the match.

The Mastini managed to secure a 1-0 win over the Granata in Turin with a second half goal from substitute Artur Ionita, while goalkeeper Rafael helped his side maintain the three points after saving a penalty from Omar El Kaddouri in the final minutes of the game, which has pleased the Gialloblu tactician.

Mandorlini spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the victory against Torino about Hellas Verona’s satisfaction with the result and commented on the penalty given to the Toro.

“I have a team that never gives up,” said the 54-year-old. “We demonstrated this today on a difficult field.

“We are happy, these are three important points that will help us. Winning on this field is a source of satisfaction.

“I watched the situations that caused the penalty two or three times, my player did go in for a tackle but pulled his leg back at the end.

“I think the penalty was wrongly assigned by the ref but it happened anyway and in the end it worked out in our favour.”
