Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini believes his side did not play a good game against Palermo.

The home side won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Juanito Gomez and a penalty from Luca Toni.

“We have not had a good game, but it was a vital result,” Mandorlini told the press after the match.

“We showed good character and quality, they did test us but we created more chances then them.

“In the end I think the result was fair and it allows us to continue our improvement,” he claimed.

Verona and Palermo had both drawn their opening games against Atalanta and Sampdoria, respectively.
