Chievo’s Argentine midfielder Mariano Izco hopes that compatriot Maxi Lopez’s good form will continue against Parma this weekend.
The Flying Donkeys unexpectedly defeated Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo 1-0 thanks to Lopez’s strike.
“I have known Maxi Lopez for many years and I am so glad he scored the winner [against Napoli],” Izco told the press. “I hope that he continues his scoring streak.”
Izco, though, is under no illusion about the task they face against Parma over the weekend.
“The three points that we got against Napoli were so precious but we must keep up the momentum against Parma on Sunday.
“We have been training hard and in today’s football, physical conditioning is everything.
“I made my debut against Parma in Serie A with Catania eight years ago and had an assist as we won [2-0]. It would be nice to repeat that this weekend.”
