Inter coach Walter Mazzarri has rued Inter’s cutting edge after their 2-0 win over Atalanta despite praising his side’s performance.

Inter won convincingly but hit the woodwork twice and striker Rodrigo Palacio also missed a penalty.

The match against Palermo was strange. Today we started well, creating good opportunities immediately, expressing a good game against a very good Atalanta,” Mazzarri told the press.

“We did not give almost nothing, my boys played a good game. If I was to be picky maybe we could have won the game before, but in the second half the players felt a little tired.

“We have to work to be more clinical in key moments. I hope to improve in this respect.”

The Italian coach then went on to speak about Hernanes who scored the second goal.

“I’m happy for him before of all because he is a serious professional, exemplary, who gives a lot to the team.”

He then spoke about the injury to key striker Mauro Icardi.

“We will check tomorrow his condition. If someone like him asked me to be substituted it means that he has received a serious blow.”
