Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has expressed his pride at seeing his side continue their undefeated run of games.

The Blucerchiati beat their local rivals Genoa 1-0 away from home giving them a fifth consecutive game without losing.

“We are very pleased to be in third,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia after their win took them to third place in Serie A.

“Juventus and Roma are the only other undefeated teams, but today’s victory is worth little if we don’t beat Atalanta.”

Genoa had held Sampdoria for a majority of the match but a Manolo Gabbiadini strike from a free kick ended the tie.

“We are slowly becoming a team because we have suffered together, but we always endeavour to play our own game.

“We play all our games to win and not to lose, we must continue to play our own game, even if we lose,” he finished.
