Monaco were keen to land Chievo goalkeeper Francesco Bardi during the summer transfer window, but Inter refused to open talks for the youngster according to his agent.

The keeper, who is on-loan from Inter for the 2014/2015 season, was in sensational form for the Flying Donkeys last Sunday in Serie A as he kept Napoli at bay at the San Paolo as the Verona side ran out 1-0 winners though his future could have been elsewhere according to his agent.

“Yes Monaco were very interested in Bardi and wanted him at all costs,”  his agent Vincenzo Rispoli told fcinternews.it

“But Inter really believe in Francesco, its a bilateral relationship. Francesco is happy to belong to Inter and was flattered to be linked to Monaco and  a number of clubs in Europe.

“The first player I ever moved to Inter was Gianluca Pagliuca and I’m glad to work with them and have always got on well with them.”

Bardi has spent the past three season’s on loan at Livorno, Novara and Livorno again since his move to Inter in 2011.
