Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was left frustrated after his side could only earn a 1-1 draw away to Torino.

The Viola dominated tha match for long periods but still could not secure the three points. Young forward Khouma Babacar equalized for the side after Fabio Quagliarella had opened the scoring for Torino.

“We conceded the goal against the run of play, but showed great character and strength to fight back and take this point, though we deserved more,” he said to Sky Sport Italia after the match.

The former Roma forward did stress that he was pleased with his side’s performance in general and had praise for young starlets Khouma Babacar and Federico Bernardeschi.

“Analysing the game, I think you can see Fiorentina controlled the match from start to finish.

“There are some positives, including the combination of Babacar and Bernardeschi to score the goal. They provided that clear head and enjoyment of football that we needed in the final third.”

He finished by commenting on how the club are coping with the current injury crisis which includes the likes of Mario Gomez, Juan Cuadrado, Giuseppe Rossi and Marko Marin.

“We are going forward our idea of football, but obviously if you are missing certain players who tend to finish off the chances, then more of those opportunities are not going to get converted.

“The season has just started, I am happy by our team spirit and mentality.”
