Vicenzo Montella shared his positive feelings towards his sides performance following a 0-0 result at home against Sassuolo.

The Viola out-possessed and out-shot their defensive visitors by a great margin, but were inevitably left wondering if their glaring chances would have been finished by the injured Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi.

Montella stated to Rai Due following the match, “At home we had a bit more difficulty, but the team played a very good game.

“During the first half we were faster to create actions, but in the second half we had little clarity.”

Montella then touched on the sensitive subject of goalscoring, or lack thereof.

“We are on track, goals will come. It’s important not to concede goals to the opponent, I think this is a good starting point, hoping that in the future a bit of luck will help us.”

The Viola were indeed out of luck during the midweek clash, with efforts coming off the woodwork in both the first and second half against the Neroverdi.
