Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella is pleased to finally see the efforts of his side pay off, as La Viola claim their first win of the season.

Striker Mario Gomez put in a largely anonymous performance, but Montella is not worried by his form, insisting that he will score soon.

“Gomez? The goal will come when least expected. He fights for the team, and we won, so it’s good for me.”, the Italian told Sky Sport Italia.

“It would have been more severe if he had not scored and we lost, and I think he is of the same opinion.”

The former Catania manager also reflected on Juan Cuadrado’s performance, saying, “He is a key player, but the truth is that he is not 100% [psychologically] clear, but he always puts in great effort.”
