Napoli coach blames lack of intensity

Rafa Benitez NapoliNapoli boss Rafael Benitez felt that his side did not deserve to lose against Udinese on Sunday night at the Stadio Friuli.

The visitors were done by a goal from centre-back Danilo, as he gave Udinese their second win of the season much to the delight of the home supporters.

However, Benitez believes that his side were much better and were not lucky enough.

“It was a different game but we had it under control,” said the Napoli coach at a post match conference.

“But then we conceded a soft ball in the area that led to the goal. We created chances however  lacked a bit of intensity in the attack.”

Benitez was then questioned on his team selection policy, as he decided to rest several key players following their mid week Europa league fixture.

“Gambling? [Gokhan] Inler had a fever and others played on Thursday and were not at their best.

“We lost a game we should not have lost and the players that I possess have enough quality to win these games. The squad has balance, and had to win with against Chievo and Udinese.”
