Palermo youngster Andrea Belotti admits he used to idolize former AC Milan star Andriy Shevchenko when he was growing up.
The Italy under 21 star completed his move to the Rosanero outright from Albinoleffe this week, and can’t wait to face Hellas Verona this week.
“It will be nice to face off against [Luca] Toni this week, we will have to watch out for him,” Belotti told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’m certainly faster than him, but each player has their own characteristics.
“I am inspired by great strikers like Fernando Torres, [Sergio] Aguero, [Carlos] Tevez and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. I can learn much from Torres now that he is in Italy.
“Shevchenko has always been my idol though, for his humility and the ability to score in every way possible.”
