The new season may only be two games old but already Palermo’s volatile president Maurizio Zamparini is considering sacking his team’s coach Giuseppe Iachini.

Iachini guided the Rosanero to the Serie B title last season after taking over from AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso.

However, it is rumoured that the tactician’s position is already under threat this term after an opening day draw with Sampdoria and Monday nights defeat to Hellas Verona.

Sport Mediaset are reporting that Iachini has three games to save his job with the Sicilians. Unfortunately for him the club face a difficult run of fixtures against Inter, Napoli and Lazio, respectively.

Gianluca Atzori, Edy Reja and Ciro Ferrara are already in the frame to take his place should he fall foul of Zamparini.

The Palermo owner has become infamous for sacking coaches. Astonishingly, if Iachini was to lose his job he would become the 21st tactician to be sacked by Zamparini since he bought the club in 2002.
