Pietro Leonardi, the sporting director of Italian club Parma has made it clear that centre forward Antonio Cassano is not moving back to Sampdoria.

Many sources in Italy state that Parma club President Tommaso Ghirardi has met Sampdoria officials to negotiate a player swap deal, that would send Cassano to the Blucerchiati and Fantantonio Bergessio in the opposite direction.

“Ghirardi has not spoken with Sampdoria’s owner [Massimo Ferrero] and Cassano is not a player who is offered,” said the 50-year-old according to tuttomercatoweb.com

These rumors specifically found their base after it was reported that a training ground bust up had occured between the former Real Madrid player and the Ducali boss Roberto Donadoni.

However, Leonardi again denied any sort of pretentious happenings at the club.

“What has been written is not true. Everything has been manipulated or exaggerated depending on who is the author.

“Cassano is a player of Parma. There is no problem.”

In spite of Leonardi’s reassuring comments, the 32-year-old was left out of the Parma team that lost 1-0 to newly promoted side Cesena, during the first week of the 2014-2015 Serie A season.
