Parma’s Jonathan Biabiany will be sidelined for an indefinite period due to an irregular heartbeat as the club insist they will take no chances with such a potentially serious medical issue.

Biabiany was on the verge of a deadline day move to AC Milan, but it broke down due to Cristian Zaccardo’s refusal to move the other way. although the Rossoneri medical team did inform Parma of the potential heath issue even though it wasn’t the reason for the transfer being called out.

“We’ve stopped all physical activity for Biabiany,” said the Ducali’s sporting director Pietro Leonardi at a press conference to welcome Mcdonald Mariga who signed on a free transfer.

“On september 1 there was a cardiac arrhythmia that he’s never encountered before.

“You have to consider that the guy passed Parma’s physical examination on July 10, this has emerged since that.

“Jonathan will only be back on the pitch once we can guarantee his safety regarding to every aspect of his health.

“We need to stay united and try to do the things that will allow us to return to the state of serenity that has distinguished us, it’s a very unfortunate situation for many reasons.”
