Lazio boss Stefano Pioli has revealed that his team will be giving their all in hopes of securing points in their away match against Genoa on Sunday.

The Biancocelesti will be looking to continue their success after earning a 3-0 win over Cesena last weekend and the tactician admits that the capital city club have been working hard to perform better as team ahead of their meeting with the Grifone.

Pioli spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about what he hopes to see from Lazio during the game with Genoa and commented on which players he may include in his squad.

“We know the strength of Genoa and the skill of their coach, but we only look to ourselves to play our own game,” said the 48-year-old. “We must always try our best to be a more compact team.

“Every game is a test for us and it will continue to be like this for the rest of the season. It gives us a chance to show our true potential.

“Our mentality? We must put our identity in place, which is still forming. We always want to take the upper hand in a game, trying to control every action and playing high up on the field.

“We know that we cannot do this for the full match, because our opponent are also there trying to do the same. We hope to bring home as many points as possible against Genoa.

“We must keep a proper balance, everyone must attack and defend in order to improve this. Therefore, if there’s a problem it’s based on the whole team’s effort.

“All of the teams that work hard to be the best can reach full potential, especially those that have made any necessary changes to their game.

“We work hard every day in order to be ready for every match and to play as a complete team as soon as possible. We are convinced that we are on the right track.

“I’m still not sure who I will start in the game, but Felipe Anderson is certainly an important player. I am also delighted that Federico Marchetti is back with us.

“When it comes to Miroslav Klose and Filip Djordjevic, I try to make the most out of their features. They can coexist, but at this moment I don’t have any difficulty choosing players because everyone is ready.

“Our main mission is to find the right balance between all players in the team.”
