Poli - AC MilanAC Milan midfielder Andrea Poli hopes new coach Filippo Inzaghi can follow in the footsteps of current Italy boss Antonio Conte.

The Rossoneri are off to a wonderful start this season, winning their first two Serie A games, against Lazio and Parma, respectively, and many fans believe that Inzaghi is the perfect fit to lead the club to glory.

“In the 10 days I trained with the National Team I understood why Juventus won three consecutive league titles with Conte,” said Poli at a recent Vogue fashion event.

“There is great attention to detail and I hope Inzaghi can also follow in his footsteps.”

The midfielder was also optimistic about this season and assured fans that the team is doing its best to improve.

“We have been working together for around two and a half months and I think we can still grow and play games better.

“We can only do so by correcting our errors.”

Poli was then asked to share his thoughts on the upcoming Serie A game against reigning champions Juventus.

“I never like to make predictions. They [Juve] are a great team and the game could be decided by a single episode. Concentration will have to be at the maximum and we hope our fans will give us a great boost.”
