Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic expressed his happiness at the result against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

The Giallorossi played out a 1-1 draw against the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night, and the Bosnian international was quick to praise the side.

“We knew what we were capable of doing,” he told Sky Sport. “We wanted to play out style of football tonight.

“The team deserved a draw, and maybe even more than that.”

Pjanic then went on to discuss his side’s formation as well as expressing his views on Roma’s chances of progressing to the Round of 16.

“The three man midfielder allowed us to keep the ball and create chances,” he said. “We are doing well so far.

“Our performance tonight deserved us the draw.

“The chance I missed? It was tough because the goalkeeper [Joe Hart] closed the angle really well.

“Our group is tough, but Manchester City and Bayern Munich still have to play us at home; I am confident that we can progress.”

It is also worth mentioning that the Giallorossi’s upcoming game will be against Juventus at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday.
