AC Milan could face legal action regarding the dismissal of ex-coach Clarence Seedorf  in June 2014, as the former Rossoneri player was placed on gardening leave rather than formally sacked and therefore the club is obliged to pay him his annual salary of €2.5 million until 2016 when his contract expires.

However, the two parties are yet to reach an agreement about how much money the Diavolo owe their former employee.

Milan are represented by their usual legal team of the Studio Legale Cantamessa while Seedorf is represented by a pool of lawyers that includes the ex-minister for work Tiziano Treu who admitted that it looks likely the case will have to be settled by a court as the parties remain distant.

“We hope for a amicable solution and one that satisfies all the parties involved, but the last meeting didn’t go very well,” said Treu to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“As things currently stand, there is a strong risk that this will end up at a tribunal.”

There is a belief that if Seedorf can find a new managerial job then that would benefit all involved and pave the way for the case against the Rossoneri to be be dropped.
