Juventus striker Carlos Tevez believes that the Old Lady’s strong defence can help them do well against Atletico Madrid on October 1.

The Bianconeri have won all five of their Serie A matches this season thus far along with their previous Champions League group stage match against Malmo and the 30-year-old is confident that the Italian giants will be able to put on a good showing when they face off with the Colchoneros on Wednesday in Madrid.

Tevez spoke to Mediaset Premium after Juve’s 3-0 win over Atalanta on Saturday about the upcoming meeting with Atletico Madrid and commented on his satisfying start to the season.

“I’m happy with my start to the season, it’s great. I hope I can go on like this,” said the Argentine, whose scoring tally is now at four goals in four league appearances after netting a brace against the Orobici.

“The Champions League match with Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon Stadium? For us it will be a good game, Atletico Madrid are doing very well.

“Starting tomorrow we’ll start focusing on this next match in the Champions League, we have a good defence and we can do well.”

The striker was also interviewed by Sky Sport Italia following his impressive performance against La Dea and complimented Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who made an impressive penalty save in the second half, while also commenting on the Turin side’s rivalry with the also unbeaten Roma.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to speak to Buffon after his penalty save, but the whole world knows that he is a great goalkeeper,” he said.

“We had been very good to take control of the match and make it 2-0. Now we wait for the challenge against Atletico Madrid in Spain, hoping to play a good game. It is what we want!

“It’s still too early to talk about the rivalry with Roma for the time being because there are a lot of games left. After we go head to head with them we will know more, but in general it is still too early.”
