Carlos Tevez has insisted Juventus will not repeated the same mistakes as last year after firing the Italian champions to a 2-0 win over Swedish side Malmo FF in the Champions League.

Tevez, who had not scored in the competition since his time as a Manchester United player, struck a magnificent second-half double to ensure the Bianconeri got off and running in their bid to reach the last-16.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, Tevez said, “I missed scoring goals in the Champions League but that was not the problem.

“Juventus is the most important thing but I must improve with regards to goal-scoring,” the Argentine striker said.

Tevez then admitted that, although Juventus find themselves in a difficult group including La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid, they have learnt their lesson from failing to get past the group phase last year.

“The group is difficult but we have learnt our lesson from last year,” he said.

Juventus’ next Champions League match is away to Atletico Madrid on October 1.
