Quagliarella - TorinoAntonio Conte has added a surprise inclusion to his Italy attack after calling up Torino forward Fabio Quagliarella.

The former Juventus boss takes charge of the Azzzurri for the first time when they take on the Netherlands in a friendly before meeting Norway in the first game of their European Championship qualifiers.

Pablo Osvaldo picked up an injury, ironically against Quagliarella’s Torino on Sunday, for Inter and as such had to rule himself out of the upcoming matches.

Quagliarella’s call up means that it brings to three the number of Granata players in the national squad as he joins up with teammates Daniele Padelli and Matteo Darmian.

The 31-year-old was a part of Conte’s Juventus for the previous three title winning seasons although he had not featured for his country since 2010, in the wake of the ill-fated World Cup that year of which he was a part of the squad.
