Fernando Torres has expressed his delight at scoring his first goal for AC Milan but insists that he and his team-mates are taking this season one step at a time.

Torres headed his side back into contention as Milan fought back to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw with Empoli on Tuesday night.

“I’m happy for the goal, but it was more important to win. When you face a team that plays with the heart is not easy to play, but in the second half but we did better,” Torres told Sky Sport Italia.

Torres has also said he is enjoying the physical nature of Italian football as he continues his regeneration following a troubled spell at Chelsea.

“When you play with great players, it is easy to be good. I know Italian football, and it is very physical,” Torres explained.

Milan now travel to Cesena on Sunday in search of their third victory of the season, with Torres hoping to continue his goalscoring form for the Rossoneri.
