Spanish side Valencia have apparently failed in their pursuit of Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin.

The Colombian international has been continually linked with several clubs during the transfer window, including English giants Manchester United and Liverpool, however the Spanish outfit looked to have secured his services.

According to Sky Sport 24, the move is now off and the 28-year-old will remain in Italy and be at the disposal of coach Walter Mazzarri with no further developments expected.

Guarin has spent two and half years with Inter, making over 60 Serie A appearances and notching eight goals in the process.  The South American was poised to move to Juventus  during last season’s January transfer window, but that deal also failed to be concluded as the midfielder remained with the Nerazzurri for the remainder of the campaign.
