Torino coach Giampiero Ventura believes the Granata are in store for a tough challenge as they prepare to take on Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Granata will play their first match in Group B in Belgium and the coach has mixed feelings about the upcoming game as he knows it will prove a difficult match for his players.

“Brugge is the strongest team in the group,” stated Ventura at his pre-match conference.

“I say this with respect for all others, but for us this is the most difficult match due to their individual strength, their organized play and for their tradition.

“For us it is an important test to verify the work done and what remains to be done: for this exact reason the game is even more challenging.

Despite his healthy respect for Brugge, Venture is excited for the match.

“I am grateful [we are in the Europa League]. We arrived with a group of really smart guys and each of them probably never thought he could get here.

“Europe for us is not a point of arrival, but rather a starting point: we have set up a young team and to gain experience you have to mature.”
