Torino coach Giampiero Ventura was satisfied with his side’s performance in their draw with Fiorentina but had regrets about surrendering their 1-0 lead.

Fabio Quagliarella had put the home side in the lead with a classic counter attack but the Viola equalized through Khouma Babacar.

“We gave some consistency to our performances with four points from two rounds,” he told Rai Sport after the game.

“If you create chances against the Viola, it means you put in a good performance.

“It wasn’t easy, because Fiorentina are one of those teams who always punish you if you get something wrong,

“We made two mistakes, one resolved by a Gillet save and the other turned into a goal. If we had won, then nobody could’ve complained about the result.”

The coach also commented on his decision to drop first choice keeper Daniele Padelli in favour of Jean-Francois Gillet after some high profile errors.

“We did not call him because we felt it was best for him to take some time out. Certain incidents weighed on him and we have to give him time to find his serenity. When he’s ready, we’ll see him between the posts again.”
