Torino boss Giampiero Ventura has insisted that younger players will have space in the Granata squad this season and is satisfied with the arrival of Amauri from Parma.

The Toro will have to be prepared to compete in both the Serie A and the Europa League this season and the tactician admits that he’s ready to use all of the players he has at his disposal in order to succeed.

Ventura spoke to reporters after Torino’s 3-0 friendly win over Cuneo on September 4 about using international breaks to test out the abilities of players who are not called up to their national teams, while also commenting on the talent of veteran striker Amauri.

“Matches like this one are convenient to see the condition of those who play less because starting next week we’ll have to learn to manage two games in one week,” said the 66-year-old.

“I’ve seen enough of what the younger players can do and I have positive feelings towards them, we will give them the proper amount of space in order to prove themselves.

“It is a source of pride for Torino to have so many players earn call ups with their respective national teams, even though it does make training for games more difficult, but this should not be an excuse.

“Amauri? He has a lot of great experience and this will allow him to quickly integrate with the team.”
